IRCC Tracker is an independent tool that works without an account: it never asks for your name, email or a password. This policy explains which data stays on your device, which data is sent online, and why.
Data kept on your device
Your language and theme preference, onboarding status, the CRS calculations you save, your application tracker (program, milestone dates, and the file number and UCI if you enter them) and a cached copy of draw data are stored locally on your device. The file number and UCI never leave the device.
Anonymous community census
To power the Community Observatory, the app stores one anonymous record per install in Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase): a random ID, your program, your furthest milestone, the milestone dates saved in your tracker, the number of days between them, and the time of the last update. It contains no name, email, file number or UCI, and is only used to compute the totals and average delays shown to all members. You can stop participating at any time from the Data & Privacy screen, which deletes your record.
Chat rooms
Messages you post in a room (nickname, badge, text and, if you choose to share it, your tracker capture) are stored in Firebase and visible to every member of that room. The app opens an anonymous Firebase session to recognize the author of each message, so only you can edit or delete your messages. Your presence in a room (nickname, badge and last-active time) is visible to other members. Links other than canada.ca and IRCC's official application status tracker are removed from messages automatically.
Automatic message translation
Messages received in another language are translated directly on your device by Google ML Kit (Google Translate): their text is not sent to a server to be translated. Language models are downloaded from Google the first time a language is used. ML Kit sends Google diagnostic data: detected and translated languages, device model and OS version, app version, performance metrics and a per-installation identifier.
Advertisements & Consent (Google AdMob)
IRCC Tracker displays advertisements via Google AdMob to fund development. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, Google uses the User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow to gather your privacy choices. Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, coarse location data, and interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads in accordance with Google's policies.
Express Entry draw data
To show you current draws, IRCC Tracker fetches publicly published data directly from the Government of Canada's Express Entry rounds feed. This request does not include any personal information about you.
Notifications
If you enable new-draw alerts, IRCC Tracker checks for a new draw when you open or resume the app and shows a notification entirely on your device. No push notification service is involved.
In-app purchase
The optional “Ad-free for life” purchase is paid and processed by the App Store or Google Play. IRCC Tracker never receives or stores your payment details: it only records on your device that the purchase is active, and asks the store again when you tap Restore Purchases.
Deleting your data
Delete my data erases all local storage and your anonymous census record. Messages you posted stay in the rooms: delete them from the room, or contact us to request their removal.
Changes
This policy may change as the app is updated; changes are published on this page with a new date.
